Worst Mom

Ok, I am now officially the most horrible mother in the world. Tucker's very first wrestling tournament was today. We had to get up at 5:30am to be at the Youth Center by 6:45, and headed to the tournament an hour away. All the kids had to be weighed in by 8:00. At about 7:30, Tucker came in our room, and said, "Mommy, are we late?"

WE OVERSLEPT!!!!!!!!! I double and triple checked the alarm before I went to sleep, so I know I set it. But, it was off this morning. Apparently, at some point I turned it off and don't remember. I could not possibly feel more horrible. We explained to him that there was no way we could make it in time, and he was heart broken. He only cried for a few minutes, and told me he forgave me and wasn't mad at me, but boy did my heart ache for him. He was looking sooooo forward to this. To make matters even worse, Mike is one of the assistant coaches.

So, today is Tucker's day. Whatever he wants--its his!!! Please make me feel better with your own bad parent stories!!!!

I have felt the same way to many times to mention. Don't beat yourself up. You will remember this much longer than Tucker will.

Marta-

Love the blog! I have also started blogging and do love it! I find myself taking all kinds of pictures and the boys are always asking if I am going to blog about it!

You have a beautiful family.

Hey Marta! I just got caught up with you guys reading your blog . . . you've been busy! Sorry about all the sickness. Hopefully you're done with that for awhile. Congrats on getting to stay in Kansas. That is so awesome for you and your family. What jobs are there for an SF guy in Kansas?
As for a bad mom story, I missed the bus stop about a week ago and so Aly got taken back to the school. When I went there to pick her up she was BAWLING. I had to tell her it was all my fault and I felt terrible.
I would love any info you could get me on Monterey, especially the names of good Kindergarten and Second Grade Teachers at La Mesa elementary and any tricks for getting into the "good" housing and how they are working the housing waiting lists now. Apparently it was a huge mess a couple of years ago - hopefully they've fixed it!
Anyhoo, it was good to see how you guys are doing. I will end this novel. :)
